Hi, I am Hillary Conkling!  I am a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician and have practiced primary care in Laconia for over 15 years. 

Born and raised in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, my deep connection to this community has shaped both my personal and professional life.  Practicing primary care medicine has been incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and their families as I support them through life’s transitions and health challenges. I am passionate about understanding each individual and empowering them to take charge of their health and well-being, providing thorough and thoughtful care. 

However, the demands of an insurance-based primary care model- large patient panels and excessive documentation- created barriers to meaningful care and made me less accessible to my patients when they needed me most.  I established Lakes Region Direct Primary Care to overcome these challenges, prioritizing the time, accessibility, and connection essential to fostering a genuine, compassionate, and trusting physician-patient relationship.

When not working, you are likely to find me alongside my daughter and Australian Shepherd watching a sporting event or actively enjoying all that the 4 seasons in New Hampshire has to offer.  I recharge by getting outdoors for a day playing in the snow, hiking in the mountains, or swimming in the lakes, as well as practicing yoga.
